Glen Keane is an animator and illustrator, responsible for some of the biggest Disney hits over the last several decades. His involvement in films like The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Best, Tarzan, and Tangled helped re-solidify Walt Disney Animation Studios as a storytelling powerhouse. His creativity, artistic style, and passion for great storytelling through animation show how much skill is necessary to create such a piece of art. With the advent of computer animation, however, the appreciation for hand-drawn animation has gone by the wayside among the general public.

Keane recently partnered with the Google ATAP group to develop a style of animation that utilizes new technology methods, specifically for mobile devices. As you’ll see, the short film ‘Duet’ is quite a masterpiece that transcends pencil and paper:
